I don’t know why this would be an unpopular opinion. If there are enough people to voluntarily pickup all the FSBs for the ADD pay, then no one gets them who doesn’t actually want them. Everyone wins.
There are a lot of people here who are for ending FSB w/ no exceptions. I’ve always been in the camp of keep it if you need it, but pay enough to make it worth my time. I always said if it paid well enough, the assignments would go senior & it would be rare to get one against your will. Delta making it purely voluntary takes that another step forward & I think would be enough to sell a lot of the “never FSB-ers” on it, too.
