Although it is possible to arrange a person to person trade, this is less common and rarely necessary.
Bottom line: do not stress, you will have a very easy time getting to San Francisco on the 737 quickly if not immediately
Maybe - maybe not. The current company MO is to basically have “unlimited” CA vacancies in every base. Actual numbers don’t matter. It even says so I the CRU. The goal is for people to upgrade to CA where they want to be CA and that has been IAH. They will just force new hire FOs into bases that are high on CA and low on FO.
SFO has an imbalance today - not enough CA and too many FO. No need to allow more FO into SFO if the number of CA doesn’t grow. There is no indication that people all of a sudden bid SFO CA.
at this point I also wouldn’t expect SFO FO to bid out. Everyone who doesn’t want to be in SFO already had an opportunity to bid out in the last several vacancy bids.
(all of that applies to NB and primarily 737)
