Perhaps by expected you mean the MEC is going to say anything they can to imply they are moving the ball forward and so we need not be surprised by such a comm, but my opinion is this represents a possible sign that UAL pilots have effectively told ALPA leadership they want a Delta like AIP sooner rather than later, and now the NC is tasked with that exact job.
Does this mean SK will accept what is asked? I have no idea. I'm just hoping (not expecting . . . hoping) they will put forth an offer in the next month or two, and the company will respond. Prior to this comm, I would have guessed we were in for many long months before seeing an AIP. Of course, it is more than possible I'm reading way too much into this one comm, but, at least for now, my glass is back to half full

Realizing every contract is different in how they do things, the take away on this one is that the DAL TA has many, many little pebbles in it that fit in with the peculiar way DAL does things. Some of which could be a big deal if if they add up...add pay, double pay, triple pay, 1:1 pay for duty days after 10 hours. I spoke with a guy who went to the meeting, and he said it took the negotiators more than 5 hours to go through all the changes. I'm not sure if it could be easily replicated without getting their negotiator's in a room and getting a thorough de-brief.
Just saying you want the DAL AIP leaves out a ton of small details that doesn't capture everything.
