Not everyone going through KCM is going to be operating the aircraft. The fact is, guys are bringing unsecured weapons through security and some are getting caught. Most uniformed crew going through tsa will operate an aircraft eventually. Are you saying they they are not operating they are dangerous but if they are operating A-OK? Yes we should be professional and not bring prohibited items through. The logic here is that if it’s in the pax cabin it could be used by a pax - however unlikely. When has a crewmember bringing a prohibited item been a problem?

This is and always has been security theater. However the perception that even the pilots can’t be trusted is just plain wrong. I don’t want to let “the man” perpetuate that.
