2400 is a lot more than they originally were looking to hire this year. Anyone know if there is a number management is trying to hit for total pilots on property? Looks like it’s close to 15k currently.
There are over 15,000 today. With 500 retirements this year, it will be approaching 17,000 this time next year.
The increase in headcount is partially due to previous plans, partially due to another 700 pilots required by C19.
