He claims on one hand that AS would never step up to the plate and negotiate fairly and do the right thing (as history has shown, he points out), but somehow if we purposefully told our union to stall negotiations and delay even more (which was the #1 complaint we had that led to march), that Delta would get 337 first and then AS would be forced to pay us that. Sure, Delta sets the new industry top rate. But NOTHING his side provides proves why AS would come close to that rate. Why should they? Why would they? Thy only answer given was "that's the new industry top rate." Ok. So what? The industry top rate was 285 before this, and AS stopped (via an arbitration btw) at 266. Fact. Delta getting 337 this year would not mean AS signs at 337 this year. To state otherwise is pure speculation.
Who needs union busting lawyers when there are union members like you....
JL's only regret is that there weren't another 2000 pilots just like you. He'd have his pic on top of the wall of legends, wearing a wreath of laurels and hailed by management as a returning conqueror. But instead, he went back to "doing what he loves most", flying the line and spending more time with his family.
Why aren't we getting $280/hr right now? That's what they wanted to pay us. If, as you say, the company has no incentive to pay an industry wage, then why aren't we getting $280/hr?
You mentioned something about being a Monday morning quarterback in a previous post. Me thinks you're not quite familiar with what that means.
-Voting yes on a contract and then picking it apart after it's passage would be akin to "Monday morning quarterbacking"
-Vocalizing all the shortcomings and predicting the obvious outcome of getting passed by a country mile by every company signing new contracts, before a CBA is even a TA......that's not called Monday morning quarterbacking, that's just called reading.
