Oh, and since you brought up Agent Orange, my father died from a relatively rare brain disease, whose incidence in Agent Orange exposed personnel was on the order of 40x the normal population incidence of it, when controlling for other risk factors. So yes, the military does sometimes screw up, and screw up bad saying something is safe, when it's not and then only admit they are wrong years after the fact, if ever.
