Your assumption that trips normally get broken into multiple green slips is incorrect. To norm is that if there is poor reserve coverage, skeds gives the entire trip out as a GS. If there is decent reserve coverage, the trip gets broken up into a short GS and the remainder is covered by reserve. Many times the GS is simply one leg to another hub (DH back) where a reserve from another base flies the remainder. Is this scenario, the SS pays more…much more in many cases.
