Obviously I'm hoping for the best for you guys, but I wouldn't really take that as a guaranteed good sign. Republic had been doing something similar when they delayed our classes before canceling them indefinitely. If you're a pilot who is hitting 1500 now and scheduled to go to class next month, they don't know what your story is going to be in 6 months if they can't put you in a class. You might jump to a different airline, sign a training contract with a 135, stop flying and lose proficiency, or just get so ****ed at the company that you don't want to be involved. They know that an indefinite cancel is going to cost them many if not most of their Feb/Mar/April CJOs and they are just going to try to replenish their pipeline.

Again, hoping that's not the case. But when an interview and CJO process costs maybe 5 hours of manpower and an empty FO seat (assuming the captain shortage gets fixed this year) costs hundreds of thousands in lost revenue, it just makes financial sense to maintain the status quo
