I asked an A in cruise his opinion on the TA, hoping to get some objective criticism. Boy was I disappointed. He started ranting (angrily) about how he had to sacrifice our pension to "save our profession" and how he feels betrayed by the fact that most junior pilots are for this TA. I quote " If I had known they'd be so ungrateful for my sacrifice, I would've voted to furlough all of them during Covid".

My response: "......well, altimeter is 30.01....would you like a descent check?"

For the record, I am well aware that the vast majority of guys I have flown with have been solid dudes, but the few angry ones are loud. I wanna learn from them and be better but it's hard to look up to someone blaming me for things I wasn't even around for when they happened.
