It could be ice in the clouds.[/B]It dosen't sound like St. Elmo's. Usually it starts around the edges of the windshield and moves inward, and will discharge in a flash when it goes.

Agreed. Saw the phenom for the first time back in 2003. I was on my way to an interview in SHV by way of DFW. I was onboard an AirTran 717. Pretty cool looking.
