At my two previous airlines (regional that had the same nonrev benefits as mainline, ULCC) that was exactly the culture that existed within the pilot group. We looked after commuting pilots first (offline included) then the rest of the nonrevs. It was a change of culture coming here. No longer commute, but when I did, I much preferred having the ability to get a better seat over the jumpseat, while at the same time maintaining the ability to get the jumpseat if need be.
