I agree with that in concept, but the problem I have with airlines that require advance listings is that most don’t actually save the agent or jumpseater any time at check-in.
In the case of AA, even after you’ve already made a listing, the agent checking you in has to manually enter the same amount of information that a DL agent enters when you walk up with no listing and request the jumpseat.
