It’s an anonymous forum, for pilots no less, I treat most information with a giant grain of salt unless corroborated. I’m certainly not arguing against your second point.
As far as lead times for interviews goes
C340 it’s anyone’s guess. A friend had a meeting with a CP and got the phone call to schedule an interview about a week later. Unfortunately he had training scheduled so he hasn’t been able to interview yet.
