Ever have an intoxicated person ride the FA jump seat? I have - they got thru all the wickets too. I made a mention of it to the "A". Yes, it happens.

As the captain, from nose to tail, wing tip to wing tip that's your aircraft. You will be solely held responsible for it regardless of other transgressions. It's always on you.

Your laissez-faire approach might seem cool, but you are asking for trouble. It will catch up with you.

I've never gotten push back on the very rare occasions an FA is riding the FA jumpseat(s) that I asked them (politely and usually thru my A/Purser) to come say hi to the folks up front. Ever.

As always, you do you.

It's not boomer **** (I'm not a boomer anyway. Close, but not) - its captain ****. Learn the difference.
You have the right and responsibility, I won’t question that. I wonder how far you take that. If company people are dangerous to your operation, what about their luggage, or the freight, or the fuel, or the maintenance? I think we are saying Delta decides (along with the FAA) who gets to sit where. If there’s a person on the jump seat does that make them your crew or a passenger? ABPs, Exit row Pax, DHs off duty crew on non-rev etc. Does it matter if you meet them all? I think it’s overkill, at some point you have to rely on the system. You get to decide that point but I prioritize that threat differently. You have every right to do you though. I never check credentials unless I am required to do so. Some of the caterers and cleaners give me more concern. Most Delta and OAL employees wouldn’t put their good employment at risk. Some of the lower paid contractors I wonder about.
