When you are riding on a jumpseat, whether on your own metal or OAL, you are asking for permission from the captain. Unless you are a Fed of course.

What you've said above is that a jumpseater does not have to ask the captains permission. Which is pretty much false. ALPA even has a primer on it - maybe time for a review on your part.

I never said come "kneel before Zod" or some BS like that. Simply on my jet, if you're on the jumpseat, I want you to come see me and I am going to check your credentials. How hard is that for you to understand?

You want to play fast and loose and laissez-faire with your charge? that's solely up to you.

Again, this has never been an issue in 2+ decades. So not sure why you are trying to make one of it.
