thr other issue is that mileage inventory is tightly controlled, I.e. it’s inly available when you have a bazillion open seats - you could non rev anyway.

just give 3-4 domestic positive space tickets per month to everyone and call it a day.
Interesting as I don’t know what a trip would cost, though I saw something that a flight over 700miles would be 12500 miles. Not sure if it’s round trip or one way.
But it is now food for thought.

Nice solution. They PSC instructors and people in training to TK and back.. so maybe there is something that could be done with your numbers. But we would have to watch how the company controls it. Living local, would pilots be allowed to use it for their family to go on vacation? Would there be any restrictions to how far out you can book?
If we don’t put in hard language, it would definitely be a plus for the commuters but almost nothing for the locals..

Something to think about when we are looking at ways to get non financial gains. Keep the Tumi but offer something like that.
Another option would be a mileage dump (5k,10k?) every month for pilots. Hell, they could also incentivize it by giving 10k to Capts and 5k to FO’s. Being able to book one or two trips a year for Vaca would be a positive thing.

and before the FO’s get in an uproar about not getting the same benefit- keep in mind, 2 pilots. Both live in NYC. One is a DEN FO, other is a Job Share instructor at TK. Pilot 1 has to commute via jumpseat/non rev. Pilot 2 gets Positive Space. We already do it for certain groups.

Know the company reads these threads, and so do some union guys/gals.. hopefully it is thought about~

Always
