You miss the point. The flights won't change, but pilots could see airport hotels and 12 hour layovers in those places rather than the 30 hour layovers. I don't know about you, but an airport hotel layover is not the reason I chose to fly international. It is not possible for that to happen to Europe flights because they only happen once every 24 hours (with minor exceptions like AMS). It would be impossible to shorten those layovers any more. Delta hates credit time. They will cut it anywhere they can if the incentive for them do do so is enough. That point is a guaranteed duty day that is somewhere more than what we currently have, and I would wager it isn't all that far off.
