Unpopular opinion:
Not sure why guys looking to poke holes in our current Union like to go back and quote stuff from SWAPA 15 years ago. Yes, they sucked. The individual in that quote sucked. The guys who paid to lobby for age 65 sucked. The idiots who negotiated terrible contracts sucked. It was truly a different airline and different SWAPA back then and Herb had these dudes in some sort of mental headlock where he would hand them a turd sandwich and they would gobble it down and ask for the recipe.
I am all about letting that history be known, but quoting someone from that era and somehow transposing it on to our pilot group now is in poor taste. If anything, it’s a good contrast to the pro pilot, plugged in, data driven Union that represents us.
