Yep. But a couple things- people underestimate how much AA management hates labor, and would rather burn the place to the ground than “give away” something. As has been pointed out, the low-hanging fruit that is 401k start date for non-flow new hires and pay effective date is something AA will hopefully NEED to fix on their own and SHOULD fix on their own. I asked some people who would supposedly have knowledge of APA’s updated proposal, and they indicated that it is indeed part of the ask. I personally don’t think it’s a top priority, nor should it be (AA should fix it themselves like Delta did for new hire hotels), but it’s in there. That sorta dispels the notion that “APA won’t even ask for it” and “APA doesn’t care about new hires”.
between everyone who has worked at our wholly owned before, who already get it, and military guys who take a lot of orders during year one, what percentage of our new hires even really care? Not saying we shouldn’t fight for it, just wondering how much pressure there is to get it.
