I know five people who interviewed at UAL from my regional and didn’t get the job over the last two years. One froze during the interview and couldn’t form coherent sentences to answer questions from the HR rep, one got defensive with an interviewer when they felt they were being antagonized, one struggled with the basic technical scenarios, one is pretty loud and arrogant and the last was the MEC chairman who basically ended his interview with “I flow to AA in April and have a Delta CJO and am waiting on a class date there.”
The assertion on a previous page was that UAL is hiring anyone with a pulse. This is a lot of examples—plus my acquaintances who got the TBNT after interviewing—that UAL’s preferred quals are still higher than the fog a mirror test.
How much higher I suppose is up for debate, if new hires are coming aboard with 250 hrs turbine time. (Assuming the 250hrs of turbine time didn’t come after 3000hrs in a DC-6.)
