What's next? Is the company going to ask us to taxi with the MCD open because there are 40 planes ahead of us for takeoff at EWR?

It's my opinion that delays are delays, (ir)regardless of the reason. Once boarding is complete, the crew is now responsible and in charge, whether all is quiet, or an emergency evac is required, therefore we all should get paid for said responsibility.

A delay for de-icing is just that, just another situation that crews deal with in the safe performance of their jobs.
