Right after the merger, I had a guy explain to me how I was abrogating seniority by sitting in the right seat of the 757, a seat I had been in for a few years. Said it wasn't right that the fNWA 757 categories were all made "international categories" (whatever that meant, I thought at the time) and those should be fDAL seats. Seriously, the dude would not shut up about it.

Finally, just to get a little peace and quiet, I pointed out that NWA 757s had been flying to AMS & LHR out of JFK/BOS and other places for years now, and the DTW 757s had been bouncing around the Pacific out of NRT for at least a few years since they opened the short runway there.

Dude looked at me like my dog watches TV. He was caught up in some kind of internal processing loop or error, because he knew that couldn't be true, because he'd been told to be mad about it by his "sources", yet here I was with my pocket log ready to show him. His "sources" who told him he should be mad about it would then be wrong. There just wasn't anyway for him to back out of it.

He went all quiet after that, so, mission accomplished.
