I'm not sure if you're just a 20 something that hasn't figured this out yet, but it doesn't matter which carrier you're at, seniority is everything and being the plug can suck regardless of what ship you're on.

Now this statement that marg and I work for a different airline is a half truth. Marg chose his Florida base, just as everyone else based down there did. The work rules aren't a secret, and neither is that he and I are in a similar "bracket" of seniority. What is a secret is that he'll never be the one to tell you he chooses to stay, or perhaps he's not capable of leaving. I don't blame him, the sun, the water, the ability to see his family every night. He knows as do the rest of you that if you leave, you won't see day trips at another carrier for years.

Viva: It will likely get approved. Have we seen anything from IBT aside from the poorly written rant of a DOT filing? We haven't. The sad reality is that 2118 had the opportunity to really paint a d*mn*ng picture of the company in response to the DOT comment period, but instead they submitted a 1 page letter that comes across as a midnight message to an ex lover's new partner. Meanwhile, every ALPA carrier, SWAPA, APA are all playing directly to the consumer. At this point, the best we can hope for is that the company is truthful in their DOT filings and they truly do intend on having us flying to the beaches. Perhaps they lie, but lying in federal filings is a bit more costly than bending the reserve rules that we wrote.
Its interesting that you say you're not management, yet the bull that you spout comes from someone who is in that area. Either that or you are one of the 'have' pilots at allegiant and not one of the 'have not' pilots.

You were either willing to move or you live in a base where you hold seniority - good for you. Many do not/can not enjoy that quality of life here. And contrary to your spin, the information is not readily available for a new hire that you will be a 'have not' for many years, or you have to up-root your family to become a low level 'have'.

So if Marg (or anyone else) tells the truth about their qol, and it stops someone from coming here and finding out the hard way that they wasted a year or two of their life, then good on them. Most will not find the utopia that you have found.

And quit telling people to move on. When someone moves is up to them and can be determined by a great number of factors beyond your lack of reasoning. Its kind of discussing that you think if someone is not happy they should contain it or move. They are helping others. You on the other hand are harming others. Take your head out of your ass, go be home every night in your bed with your wife, and allow the potential new hires learn what is up with this place.

The only reason this guy wants you to come here folks is because if you don't he might not be senior enough tomorrow.
