The trips in chs and bdl are not commutable at all, TPA is not great either. The term commutable means flying in the same day you start your trip, and fly home the last day of your trip. THESE TRIPS ARE NOT COMMUTABLE!!!!!! Duty ins are all before 630am and get back the last day at scheduled 1030 to 11 pm. In reality we are getting back between 1130 to 230 am! So don’t be fooled about commuting!!!!! You will be traveling home and to work on YOUR days off!!!! The lines came out and pilots had 12 to 13 days off. The company had to rework the schedules because it was so bad, helped some not all.

There are no crash pads so pilots have been spending between $1100 and $2000 on hotels!

The company has attempted to make one transcon commutable, it’s a red eye, 2 legs. Chs to hpn to lax. Crews are continually timing out due to winds. Today the flight from hpn to lax is running 4 hrs late. MX250. Look it up, on flight aware. The red eye version starts next month. You will be leaving lax at 1:00am body clock time, arriving hpn at 5am ish, then chs by 9 am. That’s if it’s on time. Then you will be destroyed the next few of you days off trying to get back to a normal sleep habit. Some schedules have red eyes back to back. To be fair some pilots are happy for the red eye to save some money on hotels. Getting some popcorn out to watch the **** show
If you depart LAX at 1 AM body time that’s a midnight report. You have a 9 hour maximum duty day under FAR117. You are done at 9AM the next morning. If you are going to be even 1 minute late you can’t fly the second leg to HPN to CHS.
