Unfortunately, the cases they used involved Mesa Pilots and their PFT program. Most of us know the kind of schedule MAG pilots have to keep, and PFT is a bad idea. While this article illustrates the dark side of regional flying, I'd like to see interviews with pilots from the "top" regionals. I spoke to a former co-worker who is at AWAC now. He told me the same stuff I've been hearing (union, work rules, commuting schedules, upgrades, etc.) but he said he still loved the job. I think it depends a lot on where you work. All jobs suck in some way, but if it gets too bad, you usually leave and go somewhere else.
I flew with some of the San Juan wonders, as we use to call them. Some were ok, some not. All still had too little time to be in a 121 cockpit but that's another thread. MAPD isn't really PFT. It's an overpriced ratings mill. If/when they get the job offer, all the 121 training is on Mesa's dime.
