Not trolling at all.
Just clarifying that if you are commuting from ORD that is at least 5 full days away from base. I am glad that trips like that have plenty of down time and rest, but for me 18+ hours in a hotel by myself in SJU or even EWR isn’t a positive if I’m doing it on a regular basis. Sure NYC or beaches are a great way to spend 6-7 hours but that would get old quickly imo. In my 20s and 30s I’d love it. Not so much anymore.
I tend to agree with Slo above. To me, those 18hrs in EWR or SJU are still work. I’m away from friends/family, can’t really go skiing, biking, golfing, etc. so the soft pay is nice but I have to spend 5 full days away from home to bank six hours of soft pay (at least that’s how I understood the post).
I’m glad it works for some people, it’s just not something that I would seek out or be interested in.
