The grey area to me, and I would assume others, is in regards to the "soft pay" and quality of life improvements.

I don't necessarily want to make this post about contract since there are several of those. I am seeking advice for myself, and others, that are looking to make a decision within the next 6-12 months of going with Delta or United. Some baseline assumptions:
- Living in domicile/close to either base. NYC for instance (1-1.5 hours away from EWR/JKF/LGA).
- Pilot in their 30's
- Family supports the decision (regardless or moving/staying somewhere)

If you were in our shoes now, which major would you recommended and what are the top 3 considerations for that decision? Appreciate your time in advance.
EWR is our largest domicile and has all fleets. It also is very junior just like Delta. Who knows what the contracts will look like over the course of 30+ years, so go to whichever has the shortest drive.
