My husband and I were in Japan last year and rode on one of these commuter trains. We were packed in there just as depicted on the video. When the train started moving, I was holding on to one of the straps overhead, and looked down to see an elderly woman had parked her head right under my armpit, with her hair soaking up the sweat that never stopped until we reached our destination 30 minutes later.

I'm sure this is not an original idea, but in a long ago thread, I suggested that the airlines might want to pack passengers in the same way. On short flights of 30 minutes or less, I don't mind standing and being sardined among other fellow human beings. I mean, if I can survive 30 minutes in that train, I can certainly survive 30 minutes in a CRJ.
