There will be a significant realignment bid next month - 2-3 bases will close. That will cause a HUGE ripple effect throughout the system as senior guys move to MEM kicking them out and the more junior guys bump all those junior captains on the 777 and 767 and more and more. Realignment bids while we are shrinking the system will be hugely negative - a LOT of guys are going to get moved.

Of course we are overmanned - we were significantly overmanned in January and that was before all this new hire training ends shortly - all those instructors will be returning to the line. Way too many near retirees are hanging on longer than they projected hoping for a significant bump in a TA that may never come and if it does, may never pass.

If I were in my first 1-3 years here and had a competitive resume, I'd certainly look at DL or UAL. Their future is a lot brighter.
