To be honest, I think there needs to be a discussion of how to attract talented pilots to do full-time ALPA work. There’s a lot of talent amongst the pilot group and in my opinion not much incentive to do ALPA work. How do you attract top talent to work on behalf of the pilots?
Hire non pilots( ie retired company schedulers, retired pilots) to do some of the jobs with proper oversight. Not much different than DGS training instructors. They do the same job as line pilot instructors at a fraction of the cost.
