I for one think that the short upgrades will stick around for at least a little while. Most mid-seniority to senior FOs are now making what CA’s made under the old contract. More if they work it hard and pick up a bunch of greenies etc. And they have much more flexibility and quality of life.

I don’t think the rotations on the narrowbodies are going to dramatically improve. The regionals are continuing their slow march towards oblivion and the flying is being brought back in house as it happens. They will continue to squeeze as much juice as they can out of the operation and just pay the price. If they can afford to pay the regional pilots what they’re currently paying them, they can afford to pay mainline pilots what amounts to an extra 4-5 hours /month.
