There’s a lot of bitterness towards management, but even if you look at it objectively that job sucks. They make more money early on, but over a career will make quite a bit less all while working immeasurably more. They also don’t have a pension anymore, and their health benefits aren’t as good.

Just don’t do it. I honestly feel bad for them—they get worked like rented mules. If you want to commute then definitely forget it because they only get 8 days off per month.
