Frontier Airlines files for bankruptcy

Frontier Airline Holdings Inc. joined the recent list of carrier bankruptcies yesterday in filing for Chapter 11 reorganization.
Skybus, AirTran and Aloha airlines have all filed for bankruptcy in recent weeks.
"This action followed an unexpected attempt by Frontier's principal credit card processor to substantially increase a 'hold-back' of customer receipts, which threatened to severely impact Frontier's liquidity," the company said in a press release.
The airline said in the release that it plans to continue normal business operations throughout its reorganization process.
