We aren’t taking about any airline but SWA, and in this situation a command decision was made and you’ll just have to be ok with it until we have a policy that specify prohibits it. And I do agree with your above post, we do need some specific training and guidance.
But You know I’m right, if the roles were reversed this wouldn’t even be a discussion except good job cap and way to work through an emergency.
Spot on WildTurkey! FO’s at SWA don’t know anything. He or She or They probably had to go into a safe space and head bob for a couple hrs.
I wouldn’t have let Mr NetJets up there. Not interested in doing IOE in this case. I would’ve landed from the left seat and logged some PIC while demanding captain rates for the flight. But if the FO thought he or she or they could use an extra set of eyes up there with him or her or they, it’s all good with me.
