I've worked on both sides of the line at several companies and try to work with integrity, no matter which role I'm in.
A recently hired FQS I chatted with to kill time on hot stby informed me of what his compensation was. It’s six figures less than an IPA Capt and not substantially more than an FO. He came in as a Capt, so got to jump the line, but compensation and benefits for new FQS seriously lags IPA members. Work hours on the other hand are far higher. If your goal is to make hay while the sun is shining, IPA is the way to go. The days of management pilots walking away with a pension and millions in stock are over.
