Title sort of speaks for itself, but I find myself in an interesting situation that’s a bit of a long story, so just wondering what the process would look like if I received a CJO but needed to defer starting employment for 6-9 months. Would I need to start the application/interview process over again? Or would that just be as simple as making a phone call to someone and saying hey I actually need to wait a couple months before starting to a date that was different on my application availability date?

To add to what was said above, when you contact the hiring team be completely upfront and honest. This company puts up with a lot of stupid stuff, but lying is something that can get you the axe. Be humble, explain the situation, and they should take care of you.
