This logic does not make much sense. One airline has yet to settle on a new contract, others have leap frogged ahead of them. In awhile, they will have a comparable contract. Market forces will force them to. Will they then be admitted back into the big 6 group? At some times AA has been behind the curve. Would that mean they are kicked out of the big 6 group, as well?
There are other considerations besides career earnings. The lack of variety due to a single fleet type and mostly domestic operations, upgrade times are far longer, etc.
Everyone has a different opinion on exactly which compromise the most desirable carriers but the nomenclature is clear on this board when someone writes Big 3, Big 5 or Big 6.
