What are the upgrade times for the RJs?
What's the hiring outlook for the next year and what is needed (other than the mins...1500TT, 1000 PIC and 500 ME) to be competitive? Any internal secrets/contacts you would like to share?
I know a few Jazz pilots in Victoria, and they usually start their day here, but they are on the top of the seniority list. Is this possible for a new hire or will I need to move to YVR (or another hub)?
I'd like to use Jazz as a stepping stone (as Im sure many other pilots do). Does AC (mainline) prefer to hire Jazz pilots, or does this have any baring on my application?
What is the Jazz situation for the Vancouver hub? As for AC, has anyone heard how many 77s and 78s will be based at YVR? I was told most are going to Toronto, for the NA-Europe runs (as opposed to NA-Asia out of YVR) but lets just say the source that told me isn't the most reliable. YVR has continually been crewed at -5.1% (average) below its share of flying hours. Anyone hear otherwise?
According to a AC pilot blog (
http://acpilot.blogspot.com/2006/02/...re-pilots.html), and this pie chart:
"The other pilot bases operated 8,106 flying hours from or through the Vancouver base. Therefore, only 42% of the total 14,046 hours were home base operated."
Wouldn't this suggest that YVR is due for some major growth in the next decade, opening up Capt. spots for FOs and FO spots for new hires? Or am I completly off base?
