If I were moving to cover DFW, I’d look just north of the Red River. A bit of a drive but still well within reason for SC reserve to DFW. Cheaper real estate, lower property tax, and I hear OK has recently gotten rid of their state income tax. Probably not for you if you prefer an urban setting given there isn’t much in the way of “cities” there but if you prefer a quieter and more rural or small town setting, should be a LOT cheaper.
