Straight check-in time doesn't protect the real intent of getting to work, ant pure seniority doesn't mitigate the pitfalls of not knowing you really have the JS until 15 prior.

So, instead of all or none, AA being check-in time and UAL straight seniority, the hybrid Delta style has my vote.
I agree to a point. Seniority should be honored however some of the very senior guys take advantage of it by showing up to the gate 15 min prior and kick off a guy who has probably already gone down to the plane. I think you should be able to book the jumpseat and awarded in seniority order up until 24 hours prior. Then first come first serve.
