Something else that likely makes commutimg just a little better at Delta is the jumpseat policy. To/from work is earlier listing than personal travel and you can't be bumped by another pilot. Going to work, if you are bumped (say by FAA), you get positive space. The FA jumpseat is also usable by DL pilots.
I get you don't like commuting, but it's also obvious you are so set on that view that you can't imagine anything different. Otherwise you would give your view, but not specifically discount listening to the thoughts of "the minority" that doesn't fully agree with you.
I didnt discount anything other than saying I feel that those who choose to commute are either convincing themselves its OK because they dont have a choice or they haven't had the opportunity to not commute. Its not a personal attack by any means, I even mentioned there being very valid reasons why someone who choose to do it, but you can't honestly tell me that commuting for the entirety of a career is in anyway shape or form the better option. I did it, I get it, I just wish someone would have told me in the beginning how big of a deal it was, as it would have saved me 7+ years of it, not to mention the lost time from home, qol and money.
