I’ve talked to several UPSers lately who are encouraging their kids to pursue the pax carriers instead of UPS.
My daughter is at a regional now. She is 22. If she could get hired at a decent legacy (Delta, United, Southwest) by 25 why on earth should she come to UPS. She could potentially have a 40+ year career. Can you imagine doing what we do now for that long. Let alone trying to have a family at some point. There are certainly pluses to coming here, but the minuses have been racking up over the years. This lifestyle isn't for everybody and the decision to come here isn't that clear cut anymore. To those of you that might laugh at the prospect of people getting hired in their mid 20's at a legacy, it's happening!
