Well, as it turns out, Colgan was there today. However, as Colgan Jr. was explaining to me, they're being very cautious at the moment with regards to hiring pilots. He boasted that Colgan has never furloughed pilots, and that he wants to keep that clean record. However, they are expecting to pick up some more Q400 flying out west, so he needs pilots; but for the next few months hiring will be at a snail's pace.
Most of the pilots I met were either new to the industry, or formerly retired.
Southern Air Cargo didn't have their door open during the time I was there, so I don't know what their deal was. American Eagle's room was empty, as was ASA's. North American was picking people up, but it seemed that Kalitta Air was the most busy of the airlines.
