Our Chair, was given the authority to call for the strike vote in resolution 23-08 in the following manor: "BE IT RESOLVED that the MEC Chair, in consultation with the Negotiating Committee and the Negotiating Support Team is authorized to initiate a Strike Authorization Vote by the membership."
Delta, United, AA, Hawaiian, others, have all recognized the value of their pilots.
We deliver several times more revenue per flight, air mile flown, per any metric you want to use than our passenger flying fellow pilots.
The time has been "now" for a long time.
We are here now and it is time to raise the bar, support the strike authorization vote, and except the hardships of attending our council meetings and get engaged.
Anything less will ensure an below industry leading TA.
