i wouldn't worry about upgrades slowing down. even on the last vacancy there were spots that went unfilled. i wouldn't put to much credit into the base manager predicting future upgrades. there may be less people coming in to tell them they are leaving, but as we saw in the last vacancy there are still empty spots.

Otherwise they would be trying to ATTRACT pilots with a good one.... That's my understanding of supply and demand.
go easy on yourself man. i wont be mad at people who come here to try and start their career. i don't think people coming here have any effect on us not having a contract right now. now i will say that yeah, if everyone quit coming here because of an out of date contract all at one time then management would get the message. but we cant even plan on that happening. when i see people coming here i look at them and know that they have a reason they are here, and i don't care what that reason is. we have mesaba and eagle guys who got sick of waiting to upgrade. we have mesa guys who wanted to be at the 2nd worst regional instead of the worst. everyone has their reason and that isn't important to me. what will be important is when it is time to either walk or sign a contract. that is when i will look to all the pilots here and expect EVERYONE to do the right thing. if they give us a good contract then i expect people to vote yes. i want pinnacle to succeed. i want this to be a profitable company. i know some guys are so bitter that they will vote no on the new contract no matter what it is. i know some people who would probably vote yes on the first thing we get. i also expect that if and when the time comes for us to walk that once again every pilot will do the right thing. we are all in this together. the way i see it is that every time someone is hired here i have gained an extra pair of feet to help us let management know that we ALL mean business.
