It sort of depends. There was one time when they delayed the next AE a bit and used up all their NYC spots from the last AE, so the last few classes had much greater variety of bases to choose from. On the flip side, if your goal is a wide body there’s probably a greater chance of getting that in a drop right after a new AE (assuming there are more unfilled WB spots).
