Not really - after the AE has released, there positions that were not bid, those are available to new hires. But how they meter them out depends on when they need the pilots and sim availability. It's really just a crapshoot.
In the last year or so, I think every FO position has been available for new hires, widebodies included. Of course, that changes each AE.
