To be fair, new hires have no clue about pairings or even profit sharing lol. Bases, yes, that’s a critical component. But the reality is legacies offer more career expectations, and they’re literally handing out jobs like candy. There is no real standards or quals anymore. Interviews are a joke compared to the past. My point was, the lack of pairing QOL and the lack of profit sharing, in part, certainly don't make most of us try and convince people to come here. Or when other pilots ask our overall opinion of a career at JB, if we're being honest, we would mention those things, among many others. And newbies do read these boards and hear our gripes. WAs you point out, there are things we just can't compete with, and the things that are within our control, the airline doesn't offer what they COULD. Better pairings (like we used to have) are a better QOL. Profit Sharing on an average year is tens of thousands of dollars that a newbie is forfeiting if he/she chooses JB over every other major.
To the extent that JB pilots could be helping recruit, generally we aren't because, in part, the items I mentioned.
