Each plane maybe has ONE “hefty sized” seat for persons of size….and if nobody needs it, it can be sold for a premium.
You let “ONE” be available then you might as well make the whole aircraft 1st class. That’s exactly how the entitlement crowd works. They love the victim mentality and if you accommodate one demand they up the ante with more until you or your company defeats itself. Obesity in this country is an epidemic and coming from a previous career in the medical field it almost always has nothing to do with physiology. Yes there are systemic issues that come into play with weight management but there are also procedures and treatments to counter those things. Pop Culture has has basically imposed an early death sentence by glorifying obesity with those who are morbidly obese. I also worked in pathology and performed many autopsies, you would be amazed at what excessive adipose tissue does to the organs, skeletal stress and vessel structure. Hearts of the obese look like marbled Ribeye’s and I’ve pulled out livers that were completed covered with veils of fat and weighing between 3000-4000 grams which is double the normal weight. I’m sorry but I’ve seen enough to say that the majority of obese folks made the choice to become that way. To demand accommodations for bad choices and then receive them only exacerbates the problem.
